Furthermore, it will help learners recognize their learning processes and ultimately assist in enhancing their learning outcomes ( 6).
This improved perception will enhance the scholarship of teaching and the understanding of educators within various contexts, namely teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, academic leadership, and learner assessment ( 5). Understanding learning theories helps academics and researchers recognize the nature of knowledge acquisition and how to measure learning outcomes. Acknowledging and understanding the theories behind the learning process is important in optimizing learning environments, enhancing efficiency, and harmonizing the education system ( 2), since theory and practice are inextricably linked and mutually inform each other ( 3, 4). Health professions education (HPE) is the field of expertise applied to the education of health care practitioners which caters to the specific requirements of students and is used to develop, implement, and evaluate all aspects of health professions curriculum ( 1).
